Hello I’m Hayley, landlady of the Royal Oak and Castle Inn, myself & my husband Marc enjoy running our pub together & as a family, here in the heart of Pevensey village and right next to the historic Pevensey castle. I was brought up in Pevensey and myself and my family have a love of the area and all the beautiful countryside, we are so lucky to have around us. Whether you are just visiting the area or live locally, we pride ourselves, at the Royal Oak and Castle Inn, on our warm welcome from our lovely dedicated team, brilliant beers, great gins and of course our fabulous food, sourced locally and seasonally whenever we can.
Our Menu
We offer an extensive menu of freshly cooked food, from soups, salads and sandwiches, to fresh fish and seasonal specials. We are especially proud of our Sunday lunches.
There is plenty of choice on the menu for the whole family – with dishes for vegetarians and vegans, to those who have special dietary needs, such as dairy or gluten free. And because we are very much a dog-friendly pub, we also make sure there are free treats for our canine friends available too!

The Royal Oak and Castle Inn is the perfect place to visit after a stroll around the castle, or if you are staying longer or live locally, then come and join us for one of our many social events – from monthly painting classes, quiz nights – games nights, live music, themed menu evenings and much more besides. This really is a pub in the community for the community.
